This month we sat down with Billy Grullon, a Systems Administrator with Answering Service Care.
What is your role with the company?
I create new accounts in the system. I also help input “on calls” for accounts. This means that I update the accounts with the information sent over by the client so that the answering service agent knows who to call on what day. I also do account changes for current accounts.
The most satisfying part of this job is creating accounts and working with everyone on the team here. I love to solve problems and to help people out. Whenever someone has a problem, I like to figure it out. I love the challenge of solving problems.
I started with the company in 2008. In 2010, I left to go to college. I came back in 2011, and I have been in this department since 2013.
What is it like to work with this company?
It is a true family atmosphere here. Everyone knows everyone, and everyone knows me. It is so comfortable, and everyone is friendly. Everyone likes to help one another out. It is a great place to work, and to belong to.
Have you learned any important lessons while working here in this job?
When I started working at Answering Service Care, I was a shy person. Since then, my social skills have improved. I talk more, and I am more involved. My problem-solving skills have really grown. I have gained major confidence while working here.
I have learned so much from Luis [Bedoya, VP – Client Services]. I have learned leadership skills from him. I have learned from watching how he speaks to people and how he interacts with people. He is a great role model, even outside of work
What kinds of things do you like to do outside of work?
I love to spend my time with my wife and my 9-month-old son, Justin. We watch movies, especially comedy and action. I also love to play baseball and I play in an adult league. We play every Sunday, year-round.
