This month we sat down with Tevin Munroe, an Answering Service Call Rep. who has been with Answering Service Care since June of 2014. 

What is your role with the company?

I answer calls from customers and relay messages to the clients, sometimes by email and sometimes I call a representative from the company directly to relay the message. I typically work late afternoons into the night.

I take a range of calls – from people asking to speak with someone from the company, people requesting service like from an A/C or plumbing company or people asking for more help with something else. I take their information and the details of the message, and I get that message to the company.

Sometimes people are upset because they haven’t heard back from the company or are having a service problem. We help calm them down and tell them they will have someone get back to them as soon as possible. I like to know that I have helped someone calm down and feel better about the situation. I always like to end the call on a good note.

What is it like to work with this company?

I have learned a lot of patience working here. The main thing I have learned working here is how to deal with different people and different personality types, and how to handle angry customers. The team here are all good people, from the managers to the other call reps. I haven’t had to make a customer service call myself in a while, but I know I will now relate to the person on the other end of the line and understand what they are doing for me so much better now that I have this experience.

What kinds of things do you like to do outside of work?

I am a huge sports fan, and love the Miami Dolphins. I love reading, especially philosophy, religious books and biographies. I enjoy watching movies of any kind, as long as they are good and interesting.

I am currently working toward my Bachelor’s Degree, and considering majoring in Psychology.

I live in Fort Lauderdale, and grew up here as well.
