This month we sat down with Ramona Martin, an agent with our answering service team since 2014.

What is your role with the company? 

We take calls for our clients and their companies. Each region takes different calls. I’m in the Florida region, so my calls are mainly for doctors, home health agencies, insurance companies,  A/C companies, diesel and gasoline fuel orders, property management, limo services and travel agencies, just to name a few. We are their virtual secretary. We get calls from all over. I’ve spoken to people calling from Ireland, Mexico, China, Scotland – everywhere. 

What is it like to work with this company?

I like being on the phones, and I like talking to people. Everybody here at Answering Service Care is very nice. It’s a wonderful environment and a great job.

Have you learned any important lessons while working here in this job?

Sometimes people who call are frustrated or upset. I try to stay positive and to say something nice to brighten their day. If you can just take a minute out of your day to make someone laugh or joke, this means so much to them. I do like being on the phones. I like to talk to people, and I love what I am doing here. 

What kinds of things do you like to do outside of work?

I am currently writing a book about life in general. When I am done, I will mail it to Oprah!

I love to write. I also like proofreading and typing, and do this for friends.

I’m also very involved in my church, I help out there too.
